What makes a good photo?
  1. Get up close! Take your pet’s photo in bright, natural light (outdoors or near a window) for the most accurate colors and details.
  2. Face forward: Capture a clear, front-facing shot that includes their ears, head, neck, and upper chest so we can create the perfect crop of your pet’s face.
  3. Avoid tricky angles or edits: Skip overhead shots, heavy filters, and blurry photos. We’re also not able to illustrate photos of pets lying down.
Can I have more than one pet in a portrait?

Absolutely! You can create a portrait for 1, 2, 3, or even 4 pets together. If you would like more than 4 pets in a single portrait, please reach out to our support team at support@shopmadprints.com for help.

What if I need to make a change to my order?

We’re happy to assist with any updates to your pet portrait order. Just reach out to support@shopmadprints.com as soon as possible.

Please keep in mind that once an order has been fulfilled, we’re unable to make any changes, including address updates. In some cases, order modifications may also cause slight shipping delays.

Does it matter what is in the background of the photo?

No need to worry about what’s behind your pet in the photo. A clean background is great, but it’s completely fine if there are toys, furniture, or other items. The focus is always on your pet, not the setting!

Do you ship worldwide?

At this time, we currently offer shipping within the continental United States only. However, you can purchase a digital file only so you can print and hang the portrait yourself! (It’s actually much more affordable this way)

How long does shipping take?

Once the artist has completed your custom artwork, your order will typically arrive at your doorstep within about 7-9 days.

Can I see a preview before it ships?

Because each portrait is custom illustrated by an artist, we don’t typically send digital previews before production. However, if you spot an issue after receiving your order, reach out to support@shopmadprints.com. We want you to love your portrait!

What if I’m not happy with my portrait?

Every MadPrints portrait is one of a kind, created from your pet’s photo, so we’re unable to accept returns or exchanges. That said, if your order arrives damaged or you’re unhappy with the quality, please contact support@shopmadprints.com within 48 hours and we’ll make it right.

Do you include frames?

Yes! You can choose between several frame options at checkout or select an unframed poster or a digital PDF file only. All frames are designed to complement your custom artwork and arrive ready to hang right out of the box.

Do you offer digital files?

Yes! You can either add a digital file to your portrait order or choose to purchase the digital file only — perfect if you’d like to print and frame it yourself.

How are the portraits made?

Each portrait is digitally illustrated by a professional digital artist and printed on premium matte art paper using museum-quality inks. Every order goes through a detailed review process to ensure color accuracy and consistency before shipping.

What animals do you illustrate?

Any animal you love! From dogs and cats to bunnies, birds, or even horses we can turn any pet into a custom portrait. At this time, we don’t create portraits featuring humans.

Will I receive a tracking number?

Yes! Every order ships with tracking included. You’ll get your tracking number and delivery updates sent right to your email and/or text once your order is on its way.

What is Skip the Line?

Skip the Line is an optional upgrade that moves your portrait to the front of our design queue. This means our artists will begin and complete your artwork ahead of standard orders, allowing your portrait to be finished sooner. Please note that this add-on does not affect shipping speed once your order has been produced.
